What your website design needs to do than look good?

Do you ever feel that your website is looking good, but you also think that your website doesn’t engage your visitors; therefore, there are no sales. Or sometimes, you know that your website is average, but your services and products are high class; still, you get no conversions from your website.

A website design shouldn’t only look good but also should be able to make conversions and compel visitors to turn into consumers.

What your website design needs to do than look good

Here are the points that need to be followed for developing a productive website:

1.Home Page:

Your home page is the first page that your visitors will see when they come to your site. Therefore it has to be captivating and convincing for your visitors to buy your product or service.

2.Main Header Design:

The main header image will make a first impression on the visitors and will decide if they want to scroll further or leave.

A header should have a call to action to catch your visitor’s attention and compel them to read further.

The trick is to use one best header image instead of the carousel images as your visitors or potential customers do not have time to watch pictures.

3.Make it Customer-Centric:

Instead of talking about the features of your product or service, talk about the benefits of it. Your customers want to know what benefit will a product or service do to them.

Here’s an example of kajal which describes its features:

  • Waterproof
  • Smudge-proof
  • Lasts upto 12 hours

Here’s a description of kajal which is benefit-driven:

This waterproof kajal will enhance your eyes and will last upto 12 hours without smudging.

4.Using Colours In The Website:

The ideal number of colors to be used on a website is up to four. You can use colors that are in your logo and have consistent branding. The colors should be appealing to your audience and should be relevant to your business. E.g., If you are selling clothes, then there should be the use of bright colors and not dull colors.

5.Consistent Images:

The images should have a theme which suits your website, business, and audience. The theme of the photos should be consistent, like bright, portraying emotions, or following a pattern of color theme.

6.Placement of Social Media Links:

Many websites have links to their social media platforms in the header or on the top bar. Why would you want your visitors to leave as soon as they visit your website?

You indeed want your business to spread on social media platforms, but after you have made your visitor spend a considerable amount of time on your website.

Therefore the best place to put the links of social media accounts is in the footer where the reader will eventually find them and won’t get distracted or lured by them.

7.Use Upto Two Fonts Throughout Your Website:

Using the legible font on your website is a prerequisite. It is a good practice to use the same font or similar font that is used in your logo. Using script fonts should be avoided as they are difficult to read.

your business. E.g., If you are selling clothes, then there should be the use of bright colours and not dull colours.

8.Mailing List:

A mailing list is a collection of your customers or potential customers’ email addresses. Having a mailing list is an advantage as you will have an audience to launch your product or service. These days people are less likely to share their email addresses, for which you have to make it worthwhile for them.

9.Mobile-Friendly:

Your website is all set and looks impressive but only on the desktop. What about other devices? If you want to test whether your site works on devices other than desktop, you can check by installing chrome. It allows you to see how your website looks on different devices. You have to right-click on your website and select inspect. Then select the device icon on the top menu bar. It helps you to switch between desktop view and mobile view.

You need to keep in mind these points for your website to do profitable business instead of just looking good.
